Seoul has been on alert since hearing the news about Kim Jong-nam's assassination. It convened a National Security Council meeting to prepare thoroughly for any further provocations.

Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn convened a meeting of the National Security Council's standing committee to discuss the repercussions of Kim Jong-nam's assassination.

[Soundbite] Hwang Kyo-ahn(Acting President) : "If North Korea is found to have assassinated Kim Jong-nam, it will demonstrate Kim Jong-un's cruelty and immorality."

The South Korean government has decided to prepare thoroughly for the possibility of additional acts of terror perpetrated by North Korea. A meeting of high-ranking government and party officials held earlier discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the government and the National Assembly to keep national security under control. Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, who is visiting Germany to attend the G20 foreign ministers' meeting, said he would determine a diplomatic response in line with the results of the investigation that is being carried out by Malaysian authorities.

[Soundbite] Yun Byung-se(Minister of Foreign Affairs) : "I will discuss this issue with other nations while monitoring ongoing developments."

Sources say the foreign affairs chiefs of South Korea and the U.S. will discuss the re-designation of North Korea as a terrorism-sponsoring nation at their first meeting since U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson took office.
