South Korea’s presidential candidates are making their last minute pitches to voters on the campaign trail nationwide. Monday marks the eve of the election, as polls officially open on Tuesday, May 9.

Democratic Party candidate Moon Jae-in visited Chungju in Chungcheongbuk-do Province and Gwangju to ask for voters' full participation in the election.

[Soundbite] Moon Jae-in(Democratic Party Presidential Candidate) : "Who is the candidate that will achieve grand unity on the foundation of reform, that will build a unified government and unite the nation? (Moon Jae-in!)"

Moon plans to campaign for support at Gwanghwamun in downtown Seoul today. In Ulsan and Busan, Hong Joon-pyo of the Liberty Korea Party showed confidence that he would win the election, claiming that ordinary Koreans have changed their minds.

[Soundbite] Hong Joon-pyo(Liberty Korea Presidential Candidate) : "Even a man from an ignorant family from the very bottom can become president. How great is this nation?"

Hong's campaigning will continue today in Seoul's in Jung-gu District. People's Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo rode the subway in Seoul to stay in touch with voters.

[Soundbite] Ahn Cheol-soo(People's Party Presidential Candidate) : "I don't have to mind anyone. Do you agree that I am the only one who can carry out proper reform?"

Ahn will travel through the Chungcheong region today and return to Seoul to wrap up his campaign. Yoo Seong-min of the Bareun Party went to Daegu to ask people to vote according to their conviction, saying that Korea needs a president who can change the world, not just those in power. Yoo will conclude his campaigning today in Myeongdong in the heart of Seoul. The Justice Party's Sim Sang-jung claimed that the candlelight revolution can be completed only if she gets ahead of Hong Joon-pyo to finish second. Her campaign activities will end today in the Sinchon area of Seoul.
