A "people's transition committee" for the new administration kicked off its 100-day drive on Wednesday. The committee will receive policy proposals directly from the public. On the last day of its operations, the committee will host a town hall meeting where citizens can meet and talk with the president.

[Soundbite] Moon Hee-cheol(University Student) : "Tuition is an obstacle to attending university. I hope the president can resolve this matter."

A channel has been established through which the public can directly submit policy proposals to the new administration.

The aim of the "people's transition committee" is to allow the public to take over the new administration.

[Soundbite] Ha Seung-chang(Senior Pres. Secretary for Social Innovation) : "I believe the government should listen to the voice of each and every member of the public and respond in order to live up to the strong trust and high expectations the people have for the new government."

Citizens can file policy proposals with the committee for 50 days through July 12. Participants can visit a reception desk set up at Seoul's Gwanghwamun Plaza and fill out a form, or log onto the website to leave a message. Messages can also be sent via both e-mail and postal delivery. The people's transition committee will review the gathered policy proposals in the subsequent 50 days and report the results during a town hall format meeting with the president and members of the public scheduled for August 31, its last day of operation.
