US film house Marvel Studios' first motion picture of 2019 "Captain Marvel" will make its global premiere in South Korea on March 6th. The film's domestic distributor Walt Disney Company Korea said that Korean moviegoers will get to watch the much anticipated superhero flick even before North American viewers. Captain Marvel is the story of an Air Force pilot with memory loss transforming into a superhero. It is the first Marble Studios film featuring a solo female hero, piquing the interest of global fans from early on. Captain Marvel is also known to provide a connecting link to the new "Avengers" franchise series opening in theaters in April. All this hype has box offices rattled in the coming spring months. A South Korean sport utility vehicle arrives at the red carpet event for the 61st Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Unlike most pop stars who arrived in posh limousines, BTS came in a Korean made SUV whose commercials they feature in. The boy band was invited to the Grammys to present the award for best R&B album. Though they weren't there to pick up a prize or perform on stage, observers say simply their attendance at the Grammys, considered impenetrable for Korean artists, is an achievement in and of itself. When BTS took the stage to present the award, the group's leader RM said "We'll be back," expressing wishes for one day they themselves receiving an award at the prestigious event. The Grammy has been largely viewed as a conservative institution that has sidelined nonwhite musicians or musical genres such as hip hop. But this year, it appeared to be embrace diversity and change with four honors including Record of the Year and Song of the Year awarded to African American rapper Childish Gambino known for his music criticizing racial discrimination in the U.S.
