The Financial Supervisory Service says foreign investors bought a net 1.35 trillion won worth of Korean stocks in October, which is the highest monthly amount to be posted this year. Foreign investors went on a selling spree for five months from February and turned net buyers in July. But they returned to net-selling in August and September. The financial watchdog said the bull run is attributable to the weakening greenback and signs of economic recovery as well as local businesses' improved performance.
South Korea arrested two foreign nationals for posting threatening flyers on a wall of the French embassy in Seoul. The two men in their 20s attached five flyers on a wall outside the French embassy on November 1, warning against what they call anti-Muslim stances. The Seoul Western District Court Sunday issued arrest warrants for them on charges of threatening foreign diplomatic officials, citing a flight risk and a possibility of evidence destruction.
