Operating drones in an urban area can be troublesome due to safety and security concerns. A drone park has opened in one of Seoul's Hangang River parks recently to the delight of drone fans.

A drone flies freely in the skies over a park by the Hangang River and captures the images of the surrounding area using a built-in camera. There are drones of various colors on the lawn.

[Soundbite] "Three, two, one, start!"

The drones soar into the sky at the "start" signal. They can fly at up to 150 kilometers an hour and skillfully avoid obstacles. The nation's first drone park has opened in Gwangnaru Hangang Park. The park equals the size of four soccer fields. Anyone who makes reservations in advance can come here to fly drones weighing under 12 kilograms at an altitude of less than 150 meters without a flight permit.

[Soundbite] Lee chung-woo(Seoul Resident) : "Flying drones is safe here because the flying sections are separated and the racing section is blocked with a net."

The Seoul City government plans to provide drone training to beginners and host a drone competition this autumn.
