Athletes from around the world use state-of-the-art technologies to maximize their chances of winning at the Olympic Games. Let's take a look at what technologies Team Korea is using.

The national women's hockey team is training in full gear. Each of their movements is shown on the screen. The images are transmitted by GPS chipsets built into the athletes' uniforms. By using this gear, which measures speed and distance, the hockey team hopes to win its first medal in 20 years.

[Soundbite] Han Jin-soo(Coach of Korean Nat'l Women's Hockey Team) : "I base my decision as to when to replace players by looking at their heart rates displayed on the device."

Gymnasts, for their part, use special cameras that can take 70,000 images per second and grasp even the most subtle muscle movements to help them maintain their body balance. In archery, which requires a high degree of concentration, a brain training program called neurofeedback is used to help the athletes improve their mental stability. In judo and fencing, a 3D motion capture system analyzes movements, angles and strength with high precision. Thanks to these advanced technologies, the athletes have a higher chance of reaping better results for their efforts.
