A few weeks ago we aired a story about a 28-year-old man who perished in a fire after saving his neighbors from the blaze. We visited his hometown and talked to the students at his elementary school about his sacrifice. Here are some of the letters written by the young students inspired by his brave act.

[Soundbite] Jeon Si-an(6th Grader, Sindong Elementary School) : "I sincerely admire Ahn Chi-beom, who ran into the dangerous fire to save others."

The late Ahn Chi-beom's good deed has taught love and consideration to the students of the elementary school he had attended.

[Soundbite] Kim Joo-ha(6th Grader, Sindong Elementary School) : "You may be gone from this world, but the love and consideration you showed will remain cherished in people's hearts."

These young students came to know the meaning of sacrifice through Ahn's last moments.

[Soundbite] Kwon Min-jun(6th Grader, Sindong Elementary School) : "I think I would be selfish and try to save only myself. I will never forget you and will try to live like you."

Each one of the 740 elementary school students poured out their heartfelt thoughts on paper. The desperately dangerous moments when he rang door bells to evacuate his neighbors were recreated on a postcard.

[Soundbite] So Yang-ho(Principal, Sindong Elementary School) : "They wrote letters to remember his noble deed. I hope the letters would be delivered to his family to provide strength and comfort."

The seed planted by Ahn Chi-beom has blossomed into love, care, and sacrifice in these children's hearts. These 740 hand-written letters will be delivered to Ahn Chi-beom's family.
