Many top Korean celebrities have been donating money to help treat childhood cancers. Many fans have joined the good cause. We have more in this feel-good holiday story.

Actor Kim Bo-sung, who has debuted as a martial arts player at the age of 51, practices more than six hours a day ahead of his first match next month. Kim has financially supported childhood cancer treatment over the past two decades. He plans to donate all proceeds from his debut match, including his fight money, this time as well.

[Soundbite] Kim Bo-sung(Actor) : "That child has been cured and grew into an adult. I feel very rewarded for that. Every child who has cancer can be cured."

Actor Song Joong-ki has also quietly donated money away from the public eye since 2011 to help treat childhood cancer. So far, more than ten children afflicted with various types of cancer have been able to undergo treatment thanks to his help.

[Soundbite] Song Joong-ki(Actor/2001) : "The children are undergoing treatment and recovering.They need more love and concern."

Recently, the fan clubs of actress Song Hye-kyo and actor Lee Jong-seok have also followed suit of their favorite stars to join the good cause.

[Soundbite] Choi Jae-sung(Korean Association for Children with Leukemia & Cancer) : "Celebrities have big influence on society.We have been receiving many applications for regular donations since celebrities started donating to us."

It costs more than 40,000 U.S. dollars on average to treat any kind of childhood cancer. To 25,000 children suffering from cancer even small donations can represent big hope.
