In our next story, a university is holding classes on a train so students commuting long distances can make the most of their travel time. It's very popular among the students as the usually long and boring commute has become a lot more useful.

A class is underway inside this moving train. The lecture is about "law in cinema." Some 30 students watch movies shown on the in-cabin screen and listen to the professor's lecture on law. The lecture continues for an hour until the train which left Seoul arrives in Asan in Chungcheongnam-do Province where their university is located. The train lecture precedes the students' regular classes at school.
[Soundbite] Gang Min-ah(Freshman, Int'l Trade Major) : "It's a bit odd, but it's a new experience taking class in a train and sitting with friends."
The traveling lecture began 14 years ago. The university rented a train compartment as a classroom, considering that 70 percent of the school's students commute. Even exams take place during the traveling class.
[Soundbite] Prof. Choi Han-jun(Soonchunhyang University) : "It almost feels like a field trip. There's little pressure and the students are more curious and stimulated. I also use a lot of multi-media tools as visual aids."
The university is reviewing plans to expand the class on wheels through talks with the rail operator KORAIL.
